Car history: |
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe with a Numbers Matching 350 CID engine, Four-Speed Manual transmission, and finished in the factory color Ontario Orange (Code 990). This well preserved original has been restored only as needed, mechanically strong, excellent driving impressions, and no sign of collision observed. Numbers Matching, no sign of accident in all of the usual Corvette places, and always an Ontario Orange car with Black interior. Overall condition, especially on original components, and two copies of previous Titles make the 64,065 seem logical although not guaranteed. Books as well as recent repair and maintenance receipts go with the car. Everything works except the clock and one of the heater control vents. Concealed headlights and wipers work exceptionally well by comparison. The car runs and drives exceptionally well. The 350 CID/300 HP engine runs strong with no valve ticks, smoke or hesitation. Oil pressure is strong. A performance Flowmaster exhaust was recently added, because the sound had to go with the look. Short gate shifter and transmission goes through the gears effortlessly, the clutch is firm, and the front end is tight. Brakes show recent work as well, with thick pads and smooth calipers that look like they have been recently turned. Inspection of the vehicle exterior reveals an older Laquer repaint, Bright and lustrous, but shows laquer checking from old school methods when looking up close. Various chips and nicks exist. Excellent body panel fit, and both doors open and close exceptionally well. Exterior trim items are a combination of very, very well preserved original and repalced as needed. The tail light lenses are unquestionally factory original! The Beauty rings on all wheels look factory new, and the tires are very recent. Well preserved trim items speak originality to us, as well as original color; not to mention original and Numbers Matching engine! Inspection of the interior reveals a combination of well preserved factory original, and replaced as needed. The floor mats look original ! We will let the pictures speak for themselves in this category. Inspection of the undercarriage shows solid floor pans and rocker panels with no evidence of rust or prior rust repair. Clearly a dry climate car, and we say that carefully. This Corvette 4-Speed Coupe shows exceptionally well for a well preserved original that has been well kept, and well maintained over the years. Truly unmolested, and the fuel tank looks like it has never been removed. Tank Sticker intact ? Colors from the trim plate. Motor suffix code is HY. April 20, 2008. |
